I had the honor this week of providing tons of cupcakes for an event to support a sweet family from my church, The Chapel Cleveland, on their adoption journey.
Quite honestly, the Rigdon family is one of those incredible families that are always involved, serving, and outspoken for Jesus. Andrea Rigdon is an amazing homeschooling mom of 4 and also the family coach for Project 143 https://www.p143.org/ which is an organization purposing to show the 143 million+ orphans worldwide the hope of a family. They place international orphans into families for 4-8 weeks in the summer and winter so that these orphans get to experience the love of a family...go on a family vacation, play catch with a father, play dress up with a mother...simply the hope of what a family is.
This past summer the Rigdon's hosted a young boy that quickly became part of their family, and they were convicted that he belonged with them permanently! So they began the process or international adoption. This process is extremely expensive...so they've had several fundraisers thus far and Wednesday evening I was honored to contribute in a small way to this mountain moving journey!
One of the fun things about events like this is that I get to have a little fun with the flavors!
With Halloween right around the corner I decided to go for popular candy flavors!
Berry Blast Cupcakes with White Buttercream and Nerds Rope Topping
Strawberry Cupcakes with White Chocolate Buttercream
Chocolate Oreo cupcakes with Cookies and Cream Buttercream
Reese’s Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Buttercream
Lime Cupcakes with White Buttercream and Sour Patch Kids Topping
The Rigdon family still has a long way to go on their adoption journey. If you'd like to contribute financially you can donate directly to their adoption agency , and write "Rigdon Family" on the memo line of any check :
